MY STORY, MY RIGHTS. NEW CONTEST IS OPEN PDF Nyomtatás E-mail
Írta: Administrator
2013. március 14. csütörtök, 23:07

We call for young Roma to share their story in images through the RomaReact platform! Come on boys and girls, share this with your friends! Participate, compete, win, travel to Brussels, tell your story and make your voice heard. If you missed the first contest, then this is your chance ;)

To win, just follow three easy steps:

* Illustrate your story with one image (photo, painting, drawing or comic strip) or with a story board (one story told with maximum 6 images).

* Upload your entry to the RomaReact platform or send it to us via email; if you do not have access to the internet you can send us your story by post.

* Wait to hear the results. If you win, we will see you in Brussels in June 2013!

Please read carefully the terms and conditions of the contest below.

1. What is this contest about?

ERGO Network and Amnesty International are calling for your contribution to the RomaReact interactive map for the contest “My story, my rights” with the aim of highlighting the voices of young Roma on the European map. Share your story with the world, make everyone see, through your own eyes, who the Roma are, and help us fight anti-Roma prejudice and discrimination.

The contest is open from 12 March and will close on 30 April 2013.

The contest is part of the launch of Amnesty International’s campaign “Human Rights Here. Roma Rights Now” which is aiming at getting the EU and governments to take stronger action to end anti-Roma discrimination and racism. The campaign will be launched on 4 April 2013.

2. Which stories are we looking for?

Think small, think local, think effective:

* Which picture you have in mind when you think of human rights, of your rights, the rights of those around you?

* Find an interesting story from your home or neighbors,

* Focus on the contribution of an individual or a group to the wider society, or to the fight for equality for you and your community.

It can be anything around you that concerns the contribution of Roma to their wider community; that shows that Roma should be considered equal members of society, who hold rights that must be respected. It can be from all spheres of life – for instance, you can present a story of a Romani student in the class who fights for better understanding of his fellow non-Romani students and share with the others what it means to be Roma -the beauty and the burden- or a story of a Romani teacher, shopkeeper or an artist that make the others understand and appreciate the Roma through their art, profession or individual contribution to society.

The story should represent the positive approach of Roma individuals and groups who want a better relationship between Roma and non-Roma and who demand equality and rights for themselves, their families and communities. It can be also about you!

Mottó

„A cigány kultúrának intézményekre van szüksége...
Én ezt egy kulturális autonómia intézményrendszerén belül képzelem el, amely nem szavakból, hanem láncszemként egymáshoz kapcsolódó intézményekből állna.”
